  • Discovered Blue Zones
    • Sardinia, Italy, Okinawa, Japan, Loma Linda, California, Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica, and Icaria, Greece
  • Common lifestyle characteristics:
    • Family is put ahead of other concerns
    • Centenarians do not typically smoke
    • Majority of food is derived from plants
    • Commonly consumed Legumes – (alfalfa, peas, beans, lentils, soy, peanuts, etc.)
    • Constant moderate physical activity
    • People are socially active
