Visualization is a stress management technique that involves using the imagination to create a calm and peaceful experience to reduce stress and anxiety. Here’s how it works:
- Find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed. You can sit or lie down in a comfortable position.
- Begin by taking deep and slow breaths to help calm yourself down.
- Use your imagination to create a detailed mental image of a place where you feel safe, relaxed, and happy.
- Stay in your happy place for 5 minutes and just think about all the reasons you love it.
- If you get distracted, just re-focus on your breathing and get back to thinking about your happy place.
