Advocacy 101 Workshop

The workshop will last two hours and will cover the following topics:

• • Personal Advocacy: How to prepare for the conversation, how to approach the conversation, and what tools or resources could be used when advocating for needed support.    
  • Collective Advocacy: How to get involved in local/state/national advocacy efforts; and how to support others in helping them get the services and support they need.
  • Technology for Advocacy: How to use technology to do more in less time, with less effort, while generating greater results.
  •  Building Your Advocacy Army: How to get more people involved and actively participating in your advocacy group.
• Goal: Help people speak up for themselves and the people they care about and motivate them to take a seat at the table where they can share their ideas and opinions, and ensure their voice is heard.
