Zoom Guide: Pinning a Participant’s Video

Pinning a Participant’s Video

1. During a Meeting:

  • Once you’re in a Zoom meeting, you can pin a participant’s video to keep it visible regardless of who is speaking.

2. Using the Zoom Desktop App:

  • If you’re using the Zoom desktop application, hover your mouse over the participant’s video you want to pin.
  • You’ll see three dots (More) appear in the top right corner of the participant’s video window. Click on these dots.
  • From the menu that appears, select “Pin Video.”
  • The participant’s video will now be pinned to your screen, making it the primary video you see, even if other participants are speaking or sharing their screens.

3. Using the Zoom Web Client:

  • If you’re using the Zoom web client, the process is slightly different.
  • Hover your mouse over the participant’s video you want to pin.
  • Click on the “…” (More) button that appears in the top right corner of the participant’s video window.
  • From the menu that appears, select “Pin.”

4. Keyboard Shortcut:

  • You can also use a keyboard shortcut to pin a participant’s video:
    • Press Alt + P (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + P (Mac) while hovering over the participant’s video you want to pin.

5. Unpinning a Participant’s Video:

  • To unpin a participant’s video, simply follow the same steps as above and select “Unpin Video” from the menu.

Additional Tips:

  • Limitations: Keep in mind that pinning a participant’s video only affects your view. Other participants in the meeting won’t see the same pinned video unless they pin it themselves.
  • Gallery View: If you’re using the gallery view, pinned videos usually appear in a larger format compared to other participants’ videos.
