Zoom Guide: For Hosts Muting/Unmuting Participants

Muting Participants:
  1. Access Host Controls: As the host of the Zoom meeting, you have access to additional controls. Locate the toolbar at the bottom of your Zoom window.
  2. Find the Participants List: Click on the “Participants” button in the toolbar. This will open a sidebar showing a list of all meeting participants.
  3. Locate Participant’s Name: Find the name of the participant you want to mute in the participants list.
  4. Click on More Options: Hover your cursor over the participant’s name to reveal more options.
  5. Choose “Mute”: From the options that appear, select “Mute.” This action will silence the microphone of the selected participant.
  6. Confirmation: Once muted, you’ll see a microphone icon with a red slash next to the participant’s name, indicating that their microphone is muted.
unmuting Participants:
  1. Access Host Controls: Follow steps 1-3 from the “Muting Participants” section to access the participants list.
  2. Locate Participant’s Name: Find the name of the participant you want to unmute in the participants list.
  3. Click on More Options: Hover your cursor over the participant’s name again to reveal more options.
  4. Choose “Unmute”: From the options that appear, select “Unmute.” This action will allow sound from the microphone of the selected participant.
  5. Confirmation: Once unmuted, the microphone icon next to the participant’s name will no longer have a red slash.
